This website is set up to as the first web presence of Zorokovich 1917 – the vodka that comes from my great-grandfather Ilya’s factory in deepest Ukraine. I came across the old place while travelling the country looking for any traces of my grandmother Maroussia, who fled the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. The adventure came about when I discovered a manuscript she’d written shortly before her death in 1942. In it she wrote about a sugar factory that the family had owned, in her papers she implored my father George to go back to the Ukraine one day… he never did though. So I picked up the reins with my partner in crime, and we set about following the clues in search of the treasure under the rainbow…
